About

JASHANTI Listen-in-Harmony (JASHANTI) is comprised of me as the Chief Executive Officer and a group of sub-contracted employees. Those interested, can read more about me and influences on my values under ‘Profile’.

How long we have been going for?

We began in 2006 with a commission from the former London Probation Trust to deliver our signature programme,  Dare To Be Different Groupwork Programme to young people on the periphery of gang involvement within Greenwich and Lewisham  Youth Offending Teams.  The success of the programme resulted in further commissions and an expansion into personal development programmes, workshops and bespoke packages.

What Our name and business stands for

JASHANTI is made up from the first letter of my name, combined with that of my daughter’s, Ashanti.  I chose that name consciously as a reminder that for many years, all decisions by me impacted her. The Listen-in-Harmony part reflected my belief that at times people may appear to be saying different things, but underneath the ‘noise’ they may be united in their views.  So really, it means to dig deeper than the surface level to hear what’s being said. I think that’s one of the biggest assisters of change.

Our organisation stands for

  • Actively listening to those we encounter to assist in making a positive difference to their lives
  • Respect for all, irrespective of their diversities and needs
  • Integrity and honesty in our service provisions and delivery
  • A desire to work alongside other agencies to encourage transformational changes for service users and organisations
  • Promoting personal self-responsibility and strengthening resilience
  • Assisting in empowering Service Users and organisations to make transformational changes.
  • Encouraging a ‘can-do’ attitude, or at least ‘I’ll give it a try’ one.

Our Mission

  • To help create safer communities
  • To promote understanding and acceptance of difference
  • To have fun whilst learning
  • To be recognised globally as cultivators of transformational personal self- development.
